Michigan politics: making the transition from “shitshow” to “total and complete embarrassment”

In which pro-abortion Michigan legislators hit the “reset” button feminism:

They gathered on the steps of the Michigan Capitol to perform a flash mob-style dance to a bastardized version of Carly Rae Jeppson’s “Call Me Maybe” with their own version, “It’s My Vagina, So Hands Off Baby.”

The ACLU of Michigan, in partnership with Planned Parenthood, staged the flash mob and rally on the Capitol lawn. The two pro-abortion groups emailed out an instructional video of the “Hands Off Dance” along with two others, “Can’t Say It” and the “Pelvic Exam.”

I’m done pretending this didn’t happen.

What a fucking embarrassment. If my representative did this, I would die of shame, and then do everything I could to make sure he or she never set foot in the chamber ever again. This is not “activism,” and it did not “make a point” about anything. This is dignity sacrificed on the steps of the Michigan capitol.

I’d say that they’re better than this, but they really aren’t. ON TO NOVEMBER. #war

amy- being a former Michigander (grosse pointe), I share your sentiments fully! But more to the point – your use of the term shitshow is spot on accurate! I like this term and believe its completely underutilized – thanks and great to have you in the battle!!!
